Is it permissible to design custom RAM using megafunctions such as 41 bits, and 8 locations?

Altera_Forumyes, but be aware of using ram in this way is likely to be quite wasteful,

Thank you much for your reply. I tried to set up a 2-port RAM 41 bits X 8, but it seems the options are alway to the power of 2 to choose num. of bits. any suggestions Tricky?

Just leave some of the bits unconnected?
Or create 5x 8 bit rams, and 1x1bit ram. - Altera_Forum
