I can't get a hold of an so-8 EPCS16--at least not until October! I doubt that would have fixed the issue, since my EPCS4 does have the correct code indicating it was mfg'd using a 0.15u process. Based on the information I was given Altera switched over to the new process in 2005--so it is highly unlikely that anyone is getting an older device from distribution these days.
