Avalon MM Clock Crossing bridge

Hi,

I'm a newbie with Qsys, can help me to understand what is the function of Avalon Clock crossing bridge module?

And also the pipeline bridge. What are thier benefits and how they works in system?

    Bridges are used to control topology. The pipeline bridge puts pipeline stages in between masters and slaves and the clock crossing bridge allows transactions to change clock domains in an efficient way. This document was written a while back for SOPC Builder designs but the information about the two bridges should be still relevant in Qsys: http://www.altera.com/literature/hb/nios2/edh_ed51007.pdf

    The bridges in Qsys *are* different than the ones in SOPC Builder but they perform the same functionality.
