A simple question about in-system ram

I have used Megawizard generated a 1024x16bit ram, can I put a test program which has been generated by code composer studio as a hex fire as the fire of the memory content data during generate the ram? Will the my FPGA core execute this program? Or I can only put some data in the ram, not a program? I fina all the content in the memory shows 0 when I put the program hex fire in the ram. Can someone help me ? I don't what happen.
