It just seems strange that this type of notification wouldn’t be contained in a Product Change Notification like most other manufacturers use. Also, the 2nd link in your response does not bring me to a list of Intel authorized distributors, but instead brings me to Intel’s BUY ONLINE area where it looks like you can purchase directly from your company.
