Why do I get this error “(vcom-1136) Unknown identifier "width_eccstatus"” when compiling the FIR simulation model in Modelsim?

Description

This error is causing by using wrong version of Modelsim. You have to ensure the version of Modelsim is compatible with the Quartus® II software. For Quartus II version 10.1sp1, this is compatible with the Modesim version 6.6d. 

You can verify which version of Modesim should be use with the installed Quartus II software from Altera® software Download Center.
