What OS Ports are required by DSE for correct operation?

Description

When using Design Space Explorer (DSE), you may receive the following messages:

Info: Point <#> is being started on client
Info: Point <#> is uploading files to client
Error: Cannot connect to host: couldn't open socket: host is unreachable
Info: Unable to send files to .
Warning: Point <#> failed to run: transferConnectError

Resolution

To avoid these errors, you need to open both TCP and UDP connections on two ports.  By default, DSE uses port 1977 for communication and port 1978 for FTP. If you use the port=<number> option then you will need to allow TCP and UDP connections on port number and port (number 1).
