You may see this message when starting ModelSim-Altera Edition if your license daemon is out-of-date.

To resolve this problem, download the latest ModelSim-Altera license daemon from the License Daemon Downloads page and set up your license to use it. For more information on setting up your license to use a license daemon, refer the the Altera Software Installation and Licensing Manual.
