Is the SerialRapid IO protocol supported for Cyclone® IV GX device transceivers in F324 and smaller packages?

Description

Serial RapidIO protocol is not supported for Cyclone®  IV GX device transceivers in F324 and smaller packages. In these packages, the following protocols are supported:

• PCI Express  (PIPE) 1.0 at 2.5 Gbps
• Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps
• Proprietary protocols using basic functional mode for data rate up to 2.5 Gbps

Quartus®  II software version 10.0 and earlier incorrectly allow design compilation for Cyclone IV GX device transceivers in F324 and smaller packages when configured in Serial RapidIO functional mode (with data rates less than 2.5 Gbps).

Resolution

To compile design with transceivers in Serial RapidIO mode up to 3.125 Gbps, select Cyclone IV GX devices in F484 and larger packages.
