How can I select a Cyclone® IV device in the Early Power Estimator (EPE) version 10.0 SP1 using Microsoft Excel?

Description

When using Microsoft Excel and the Early Power Estimator (EPE), you cannot select a Cyclone® IV device when opening the EPE. If you change the family from Cyclone III (default family setting) to Cyclone® IV, the devices in the drop-down menu still shows Cyclone® III devices.

Resolution

To select a Cyclone® IV device, you must enable macros by following these steps:

1.  Just below the Excel toolbar, on the left side of the page, a message window appears with the warning Security Warning Some active content has been disabled. Click on the Options... box to the right of the warning.
2. Select Enable this content.
3. Click OK.

After enabling macros, you can select a Cyclone® IV device in the drop-down menu.

All EPEs must have macros enabled for the EPE to operate correctly.  This applies to all versions of Excel.
