Fatal: (vsim-3421) Value -1 is out of range 0 to 2147483647

Description

You may see this error in the Quartus® II software version 9.1 SP1 and earlier, during simulation of Arria II GX designs containing ALTLDVS IP. The error may occur when you specify a SERDES implemention in LEs and a de-serialization factor of 4 in the IP MegaWizard® Plug-In.

A patch is available to fix this problem for the Quartus II software version 9.1 SP1. Download and install the appropriate patch from the following links:

• Download the Readme for the Quartus II software version 9.1sp1 Patch 1.24 for Windows (.txt)

For Linux:

• Download the Quartus II software version 9.1sp1 Patch 1.24 for Linux (.tar)
• Download the Readme for the Quartus II software version 9.1sp1 Patch 1.24 for Linux (.txt)

You must regenerate Altera simulation libraries after you install the patch. ModelSim-Altera users must manually compile and map the altera_mf library to replace the precompiled version included with ModelSim-Altera.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in the next release of the Quartus II software
