Error (170155): Fixed size LogicLock region is not tall enough for its contents. It must be at least n LABs tall

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 14.1 Update 1 and earlier, you may encounter this error when fitting a desing which uses LogicLock regions to constrain logic placement.

The error is due to a problem with the fitting of carry chains implemented in the logic assigned to LogicLock regions.

Resolution

A patch is available for the Quartus II software version 14.1 Update 1.

• Download the version 14.1 update 1 patch 1.02 for Windows (.exe)
• Download the version 14.1 update 1 patch 1.02 for Linux (.run)
• Download the version 14.1 update 1 patch 1.02  readme file (.txt)

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
