Do I need to re-generate my Qsys system if I make changes to the source code of a custom component in that Qsys system?

Description

When the user generates a Qsys system, the tool generates a synthesis folder that contains all the source code for the system.  If you make changes to the source code of a custom component included in the Qsys project, you would need to re-generate in order for the synthesis folder to get updated.
