Can the Intel® Arria® 10 and Intel Cyclone® 10 GX I/O PLL have a VCO frequency below the minimum value shown in the device datasheets?

Description

When using the PHYLite or External Memory Interfaces IPs in the Intel® Arria® 10 and Intel Cyclone® 10 GX devices, the VCO frequency of the I/O PLL in these IPs can be lower than the minimum value of 600 MHz shown in the device datasheet.

Resolution

The lowest supported frequency is 280MHz. The VCO frequency is displayed in the Intel Quartus® Prime software Fitter report > Plan > PLL Usage Summary.

When the VCO frequency is below 600MHz, additional PLL output clocks are not supported in the PHYLite and External Memory Interfaces IPs.
