Why is the value of LED_LINK different than the value of the LINK_STATUS register in Triple Speed Ethernet (TSE) IP MegaCore function in Quartus II software version 13.0?

Description

 The LED_LINK signal can be different from the value of the  LINK_STATUS register in TSE IP MegaCore® function  in Quartus® II software version 13.0.

 

This is due to the fact that the register will latch a value of 1'b0 to ensure the software knows that the link was lost.  Once read the LINK_STATUS register will update to the current link status.
