Why is PARALLEL_ADD Intel® FPGA IP is only supported for Intel Arria® 10 ?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition software version 18.0 Update 1 and earlier, you will see that the PARALLEL_ADD Intel FPGA IP is not supported in the Intel® Cyclone® 10 GX device family. In the IP Catalog, you will see that this IP is supported only for the Intel Arria® 10 device family.

Resolution

To work around this problem, generate the IP in Quartus Prime project targeting the Intel Arria 10 device and use it in the Intel Quartus Prime project targeting the Intel Cyclone 10 GX  device family.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel Quartus Prime Pro Edition software version 18.1
