Why is an unexpected functional failure observed on Arria 10 devices when performing fault injection with the Fault Injection Debugger IP?
Description
Due to an issue in Quartus® Prime software versions earlier than 17.0, the Fault Injection Debugger IP may cause CRAM corruption during fault injection in Arria® 10 devices, which may lead to one of the following failures :
- Fault Injection IP not found.
- Lost SignalTap instance.
- Failure to read the Error Message Register (EMR) or read invalid EMR content.
- Internal Scrubbing cannot recover the functional failure in user logic.
Resolution
