Why does Windows10 crash when NiosEDS tools are used under WSL?

Description

You may experience Windows crash (Blue Screen) when you start Nios2EDS and you are using McAfee Endpoint Security Threat Prevention version 10.x due to known compatibility issues with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on Windows 10 OS.

Resolution

To work around this problem you need updgrade to Windown 10 version 1809 (OS build 17763) or use McAfee software compatible with your version of Windows 10 WSL or use NiosEDS on Linux OS.
