Why does the Verify operation also perform a Program and Configure operation when in Active Serial Programming mode, after changing the .pof file?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Programmer Software v21.2 and earlier, the Verify operation also performs a Program and Configure operation when in Active Serial Programming mode.

This problem occurs under the following conditions:

• Program and Configure is checked (enabled)  for the first .pof file loaded
• The .pof file is then changed to a new one using the Change File 
• Verify only is checked (enabled)

Resolution

To work around this problem, avoid using Change File by following one of these methods:

    1)  After programming, restart the programmer and choose the next .pof file.
    2)  After programming, delete the current. pof file and choose the next .pof file.  

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2.
