Why does the RAM: 1-port or RAM: 2-port IP does not specify the initial memory content after upgrading?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 14.0 Arria 10 Edition, if you upgrade a design that contains either RAM: 1-port or RAM: 2-port IP, the design does not recognize the initial content file.

Resolution

To work around this problem, open the IP parameter editor, on the Mem Init tab, browse to your initial content file.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Quartus II software.
