Why does the Quartus II software report higher Memory ALUT or MLAB Cell usage figures than the MLAB Resource Usage estimates provided in the MegaWizard Plug-in Manager?

Description

Due to the segmented configuration of the MLAB memory block, the Quartus® II software Fitter report shows MLAB memory utilization figures by specifying the number of lower-level Memory ALUTs in the Fitter Summary report or as MLAB Cells in the Resource section of the Fitter report. The MegaWizard™ Plug-In Manager shows the number of MLABs used. Each MLAB contains 20 Memory ALUTs or MLAB Cells.

The estimates reported by the MegaWizard Plug-In-Manager are scheduled to be improved in a future version of the Quartus II software.
