Why does the Quartus II software give a fatal error after adding post-fit nodes in the SignalTap II Logic Analyzer?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 12.1 and later, you may see a fatal error after adding post-fit nodes to the SignalTap™ II Logic Analyser in your Stratix® V design.

Resolution

To work around this problem, delete the db and incremental_db directories.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 13.1.
