Why does the qmegawiz add areset and locked ports to my ALTPLL megafunction when running in silent mode?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software, using the qmegawiz command-line executable to generate an ALTPLL megafunction may add or remove unwanted ports to your Verilog HDL or VHDL output file, including areset and locked ports.

Resolution

To work around this problem, use the MegaWizard™ Plug-In Manager with the GUI.
