Why does the nios2-terminal not send characters?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 14.1, the Windows version of the nios2-terminal command line program does not send characters, it can only receive characters.

Resolution

The console within the Eclipse Software Build Tools for Nios® II works correctly.

The nios2-terminal that is included as part of the Quartus II software version 14.0 and earlier may be used.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
