Why does the MegaWizard™ Plug-In Manager not launch when trying to create a ROM: 2-PORT IP using Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 18.1 in Windows* OS?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 18.1 in Windows* OS, when selecting the ROM: 2-PORT IP from the IP catalog, you will be able to enter a name for the function and after clicking OK the MegaWizard™ Plug-In Manager will not open.

Resolution

To work around this problem if using the ROM: 2-PORT IP on the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 18.1, migrate the design to the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 19.1 where this problem is fixed.
