Why does the Arria 10 Low Latency Ethernet 10G MAC Example Design fail to generate on Windows?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 16.1 and 17.0 for the Windows platform, you cannot generate the Arria® 10 Low Latency 10G MAC example designs.

You may see the following error message during the example design generation.

Error: no files matched glob pattern "*.ip."

Resolution

Use the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition Software or the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software for the Linux platform.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
