Why does Qsys fail to launch when invoked from the Quartus II GUI?

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 13.0, Qsys may fail to launch when invoked from the Quartus II GUI. This problem occurs on Linux operating systems such as Red Hat 6 which do not include 32-bit C runtime library, libstdc .so.6.

Resolution

To work around this problem, use the Red Hat installer to install the 32-bit version of the C runtime library.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus II software.
