Why does Qsys and IP files generated with the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1 or 12.0 SP2 show the version number as "12.0 Build 178" ?

Description

Due to a problem in the Service Pack installer for the Quartus II software versions 12.0 SP1 and 12.0 SP2, Qsys and IP files are generated correctly but may incorrectly display the version information in the header section as "12.0 Build 178".

Note that if you are using the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1, you must install patch 1.07 from the related solution below.

Resolution

This version information is correctly displayed in other versions of the Quartus II software.
