Why does Modify Altera Complete Design Suite 11.1 fail to connect to the Internet?

Description

Due to a problem in the Altera® Complete Design Suite Installer version 11.1, you may be unable to connect to the Internet when you try to run Modify Altera Complete Design Suite 11.1.

Resolution

To work around this problem, go to the installer directory located in the Altera Complete Design Suite installation directory. Open the file altera_installer_windows.xml with a text editor and locate the following line:

<download_url type=\'GET\'>http://sw-depot.altera.com/sj/tools/acds/11.1/173</download_url>

Modify this line to: 

<download_url type=\'GET\'>http://download.altera.com/akdlm/software/acds/11.1/173</download_url>

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Altera Complete Design Suite.
