Why does CvP fail to recover in Intel Agilex® 7 FPGA devices when updating the core with bitstreams built from different versions of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software?

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 22.2 and earlier, CvP may fail to recover when loading a CvP bitstream built from a different version than the one running on the Intel Agilex® 7 device.

 

After that, CvP fails to recover even if you try to load the CvP bitstream from the same version.

Resolution

To work around this problem, you must power cycle the Intel Agilex® 7 device.  

 

This problem has been fixed in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v22.3b56.
