Why do special characters not display correctly in Quartus II Text Editor?

Description

The Quartus II software version 11.1 and later uses UTF-8 encoding. Therefore, special characters created in previous versions of the Quartus II Text Editor may not display correctly.

Resolution

To work around this problem, do one of the following actions:

• Re-enter the special character in the Quartus II Text Editor.
• Open the file in an external text editor, for example Notepad, and save the file.
