Why do I see the error message in the MegaWizard when I try to generate UniPHY based DDR3 SDRAM controller for an Intel® Stratix® V device?

Description

You may see the following error message in the MegaWizard® IP generation window in Quartus® II software version 11.1 on Linux when you try to generate UniPHY-based DDR3 SDRAM Controller IP for Intel® Stratix® V device. 

Error: couldn't open "altera_mem_if_ddr3_phy_001_sequencer_rom.hex": no such file or directory

Resolution

The workaround is always to install Cyclone® IV GX, even if it's not being used.

This issue is fixed starting with the Quartus® II software version 12.0.
