Why do I get the error message “Error: Parameter "termination" of instance "receive_pma0" has illegal value "OCT 100 Ohms" assigned to it. Possible parameter values are: "OCT 150 OHMS", "OCT 85 OHMS", "OFF".” for Cyclone IV GX devices?

Description

For a Cyclone® IV GX design that is ported from Quartus®  II software version 9.1, 9.1 SP1 and 9.1 SP2 to Quartus II software version 10.0 and 10.0 SP1, you may get error message shown below. You get this error, even though the OCT 100 . option is valid and selected in ALTGX Megawizard™ RX-only mode.

 

Error: Parameter "termination" of instance "receive_pma0" has illegal value "OCT 100 Ohms" assigned to it. Possible parameter values are: "OCT 150 OHMS", "OCT 85 OHMS", "OFF".

 

You should re-generate the ALTGX Megawizard files, when porting design from Quartus II software version 9.1, 9.1SP1 and 9.1SP2 to Quartus software version II 10.0 and 10.0SP1. Re-compiling the design after re-generation should fix this issue.
