Why are the std_developerskit and upf_src libraries shown as unavailable in the ModelSim*-Intel® FPGA Edition 6.5e?

Description

The std_developerskit and upf_src directories (containing the pre-compiled libraries) are missing from the ModelSim*-Intel® FPGA Edition software version 6.5e for Windows, released as part of the Intel® Complete Design Suite version 10.0.

Resolution

To work around this problem, perform one of the following two options:

  • Re-implement your VHDL code using standard IEEE VHDL libraries so that that code does not depend on the std_developerskit or upf_src libraries
  • Copy the std_developerskit and upf_src directories from an installation of ModelSim-Intel FPGA Edition version 6.5b released with the Intel Quartus® II software 9.1 SP2, into the ModelSim-Intel FPGA Edition 6.5e installation directory.

Refer to the Intel Quartus II Software version 10.0 Release Notes for more information on this issue.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Intel Complete Design Suite version 10.0 SP1.
