Upgrading the FIR Compiler IP Core in the Quartus II Software Version 14.0 Generates a Cryptic Error Message

You see a cryptic error in the Quartus® II software version 14.0 when you open a design from a previous version of the Quartus II software. This errors occurs when the design contains a FIR Comopiler IP core. The FIR IP core is not supported in the Quartus II software version 14.0 and later. .
