SEVERE: nios2-app-update-makefile failed.

Description

In the Quartus® II software version 14.0, the command nios2-app-update-makefile --extended-help in Nios II command shell will invoke the error shown below:

SEVERE: Missing required command line option "app-dir".
SEVERE: nios2-app-update-makefile failed.


The --extended-help option is not supported for nios2-app-update-makefile.

To work around this problem, you may use --help to displays basic information about the nios2-app-update-makefile command and its options.

Resolution

The nios2-app-update-makefile --extended-help option is scheduled to be removed from the reference documentation and --help command list in a future release of the Quartus® II software.
