Qsys-Generated RapidIO IP Core Does Not Generate .pof Through Open Core Plus Program

Description

The Altera Open Core Plus evaluation feature should support the generation of a time-limited Programmer Object File (.pof) for a RapidIO IP core generated using any of the Altera supported IP design flows. However, this feature does not work correctly for a Qsys-generated RapidIO IP core. Instead, a Qsys-generated RapidIO IP core generates a .pof only for holders of a RapidIO IP core license.

Resolution

To successfully generate a Qsys system that contains a RapidIO IP core using the Altera Open Core Plus evaluation feature, perform the following steps:

  1. Create and generate your Qsys system, including the RapidIO IP core.
  2. Regenerate the RapidIO IP core in the MegaWizard Plug-In Manager by performing the following steps:
  3. a) In the Quartus II software, on the Tools menu, click MegaWizard Plug-In Manager.

    b) Select Edit existing version and select the RapidIO IP core top-level file.

    c) Click Generate to regenerate the RapidIO IP core.

  4. Regenerate your Qsys system.

This issue is fixed in version 12.0 of the RapidIO MegaCore function.
