Licensing error: FLEXlm version of the vendor daemon is too old Fatal License Error: Unable to checkout a license.

Description

You may see this error if you are running the Quartus® II software version 11.0 and later and using alterad license daemon version 9.5 or older. The Quartus II software version 11.0 and later requires alterad version 10.8 when using a Windows or Linux license server.

Resolution

The lastest version of the alterad daemon can be found in the Quartus II installation directory under the bin or bin64 directories (for Windows) or under the linux or linux64 directories (for Linux). The latest version of alterad can also be downloaded from the License Daemon Software page of the Altera Download Center.

You must stop and restart the license server after updating the license daemon.
