Is Altera transitioning to bare copper (Cu) bonding wire or palladium (Pd) coated copper bonding wire?

Description

Altera® uses both bare Cu bonding wire and Pd coated Cu bonding wire in wire bond packaged devices.

Altera does not mark parts where as to identify which type of wire bonds are used.  The type of wire bonds that are used in a package depends on what package/assembly house the device originates from and can change without notice.

Both types of wire bonds have been fully qualified by Altera.
