Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 17.1.2 and earlier, you may see this Internal Error when there is a mismatch in the hierarchy of the developer project, where the partition is initially compiled, and the hierarchy of the consumer project, where the partition is reused.

For example, the Internal Error will occur in the following scenario in the consumer project, which reuses the partition:

-Partition child_ptn1 is initially compiled and exported from the developer project with the hierarchy path as inst1->inst2->child_ptn1

-Partition child_ptn1 is reused in the consumer project with the hierarchy path as inst3->inst4->inst5->child_ptn1

Resolution

To work around this problem, match the hierarchy of the developer project from which the partition is initially compiled and exported with the hierarchy of the consumer project from which the partition is reused.
