Description

When you program the EPCS device through the Stratix® V FPGA (production device) JTAG port in the Quartus® II software v12.0CB, you might get the following error:

Internal Error: Sub-system: PGMIO, File: /quartus/pgm/pgmio/pgmio_devices.cpp, Line: 7614

Can not locate the SFL sof file: d:/altera/12.0/quartus/common/devinfo/programmer/sfl_enhanced_5sgxea7n2.sof

This is due to the lack of default sfl image in the software.

Resolution

You may create a project with a SFL for Stratix® V FPGA (production device). After compilation, change the .sof file to the filename shown in the error message. Then put this file into the Quartus® II software installation path:

/../altera/12.0/quartus/common/devinfo/programmer/
