Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 11.1 SP2, you may see this error when compiling designs targeting Stratix® V devices.

Resolution

To work around this problem, install the Stratix V/Arria V device patch 2.dp3 or later for the Quartus II software version 11.1 SP2. See the related solution below to download these device patches.

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0.
