If JTAG is recommended to be powered by VCCA can I use a separate 2.5V supply instead of VCCA?

Yes, if the JTAG interface for your device is recommended to be powered by VCCA you may use any other 2.5V power supply as long it is supplying a stable 2.5V.

The reason we recommend using VCCA for JTAG interfaces in some devices is that VCCA is a required supply and will be available if your board does not contain any other 2.5V supplies.
