How to use 3rd party flash with ASMI Parallel IP?

Description

The ASMI Parallel IP only supports Altera® flash devices: EPCQ, EPCQ-L, and EPCQ-A.
If you are using third-party flash devices (for example, Winbond W25Q16JVSSIM or Macronix MX25V16066M2I02), these are not natively supported with the ASMI Parallel IP.

To support third-party flash devices, you must instead use the Generic Serial Flash Interface IP.

 

Resolution

A patch (Patch 1.07std) is available to add support for certain third-party devices in Quartus® Prime Standard Edition v20.1.1.
