How can I use Windows NT or Windows 95 long file names (i.e., longer than eight characters)?
Description
Windows 95 and Windows NT provide support for long file names. You can instruct the MAX PLUS® II software for Windows 95 or Windows NT to use long file names by changing a variable in your maxplus2.ini file. In the System section, add the following line:USE_WIN95_WINNT_LONG_FILENAMES=ON
The MAX PLUS II software can use long file names by default, even in Windows 3.x. The MAX PLUS II software creates a legal 8-character name, and saves a mapping from the long file name to the 8-character name in a file called maxplus2.idx. MAX PLUS II uses the maxplus2.idx file instead of the USE_WIN95_WINNT_LONG_FILENAMES variable. Windows 95 and Windows NT have built-in long file name support and do not need the maxplus2.idx file.
