Error(175005): Could not find a location with: NEED_DIFF_SSTL_BUF

Description

You may see this error in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software when using Intel® Stratix® 10 devices and Differential SSTL IO. The error occurs when placing Differential SSTL IO on non-DQS pins. 
On Intel® Stratix® 10 devices, Differential SSTL IO can only be used on DQSx4 pins.

 

 

Resolution

To avoid this error, place Differential SSTL IO on DQSx4 pins.
