Error: Unable to archive base results -- halting exploration? Error: Maybe you're out of disk space

Description

You may see this error generated in the Design Space Explorer (DSE) in the Quartus® II software version 9.0 SP2, when you set a relative path in the Save project output files in specified directory field in the Quartus II project.

To workaround this issue, follow these steps: 

1. On the Assignments menu, click Settings. 
2. Click Compilation Process Settings.
3. Select Save project output files in specified directory and specify an absolute path.  

This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 9.1.
