Error running <your Quartus install path>/dsp_builder/setupMatlabClassPath.bat install "<your Matlab install path>" "<your Quartus install path>dsp_builder": child killed: segmentation violation

Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Software, you will see this error message whenever you attempt to install DSP Builder on a Windows* platform.

Resolution

You can safely ignore this message, or you can run the installation manually from the command line instead of using the GUI shortcut.  

For example:

• Open a command prompt on Windows
• Execute "c:\intelFPGA\17.1\quartus\dsp_builder\setupMatlabClassPath.bat install "c:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2015b" "c:\intelFPGA\17.1\quartus\dsp_builder"

(replace the paths with your own paths)

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 18.0.
