Error: Minimum supported write latency is 9 cycles at Quarter rate for hard controller.

Description

In the Quartus® II software version 13.1 Arria® 10 edition, you may see this error when selecting a CAS Write Latency of less than 9 cycles in Mode Register 2 in the Arria 10 DDR3 IP GUI.

There is a restriction in the ES devices that requires the CAS Write Latency be set to 9 cycles or greater.

Resolution

To avoid this error, set the CAS Write Latency to at least 9 cycles or change the Additive CAS Latency to CL-1.
