Error: Can't access JTAG chain, Error: Operation failed when programming with the ByteblasterMV download cable

Description

This solution only applies if the Hardware Setup field in the Quartus^® II Programmer lists "ByteBlaster" instead of "ByteBlasterMV" or "ByteBlaster II."

To avoid these errors, perform the following steps after installing the Quartus II software:

1. Reboot the machine
2. Uninstall the sentinal driver
1. Browse to the <Quartus II installation directory>/drivers location
2. Double click the sentinal driver program, setupx86.exe
3. Choose uninstall from the File menu
3. Install the sentinel driver by choosing install from the File menu

Another alternative is to program with the USB Blaster download cable, which does not cause this problem.
